Recommend (1).Most of the people complaining about what happened in Germany hate Ferrari and wanted to see Massa and Alonso take each other out. Alonso was faster all weekend and in the race. Not wanting a Red Bull-like result to an attempt to pass, Ferrari let Massa know of the circumstances. Code or not Massa took the information and did the right thing for the team and himself. Ferrari writes him a very nice check and their interests should very much be his interests. The only real problem I see here is that the team was very inept in its communications with Massa and he couldn't have made the maneuver more obvious. I'm sure, despite their protestations, every team has done things which could be construed as team orders. Ban the ban; team orders are really in the best interests of the teams and the teams write the checks. If the drivers don't like it... read more » |
